What Are Different Fabric Printing Methods

1. Stamp Printing

A stamp is created in this specific type of printing which is then used to imprint on the fabric. It is similar to the ink pad stamps you may have heard of. The design is getting transferred from the stamp into the textile by using even pressure. However, this technique is not suitable for convoluted designs.

2. Transfer Printing

The other method is using transfer paper for printing. It is a special paper available and you can utilize a standard household printer to get your design printed on the transfer paper, which can further be printed on the chosen fabric with a steam iron. This technique leaves a shiny film or surface smoothness on the fabric.

3. Dye Sublimation

It is a multi-step process that stands best of all the other fabric printing methods. In dye sublimation Vancouver procedure, the designs get printed into a thermal transfer paper which is known as dye sublimation paper. This paper is used to get the design printed on the fabric.

Heat and pressure both are used to bond the inks into the fabric fibers, keeping the softness of the fabric the same as before the printing. It is suitable for all-size print runs and leaves no texture on the fabric. It is quite expensive than other printing methods and not for use on natural fabrics.
